This month at spectrum, we are displaying a large body of photography work from our music student Robert Machi! His work encompasses the Mulberry room, and delights all of our students and families that come through our doors. He has been taking photographs since he was a child, and his interest has only grown since then. Robert shared a little with us in a short interview. Come see the entire show and meet the artist at the closing reception here from 5-7 pm on Friday, November 3.
What initially motivated you to get into the arts, and how long have you been an artist?
My parents encouraged me and my brother to take art lessons when we were growing up. I’ve been a serious photographer for the last 5 years.
Who do you look up to as an artist?
Why did you choose photography as your artistic medium?
I’ve liked taking pictures since I was a child.
What is something that has been a struggle for you as an artist?
I take drum lessons at Spectrum. That’s hard for me!
To be respected for what I accomplish.
How can interested people get in touch with you?
