Here at Spectrum, we offer art instruction that is uniquely driven and designed by each student. Our person-centered approach cultivates a distinctive learning environment that highlights and celebrates the individual talents of our students.
Like our outside-of-the-box approach to instruction, everyday materials, like composted items and recyclables, influence the creative perspectives Spectrum art instructors. Spectrum was proud to host its first Eco-Art Challenge in June 2015, highlighting the endless repurposing possibilities for used K-Cup coffee pods that are most often deemed “garbage.”
Whether you are just beginning to explore your artistry, or have a background in the visual arts, our diversified team of art instructors is able to incorporate your personal goals into your creative experience.
Spectrum art instructors merge traditional and contemporary art styles and practices into instruction, including Manga Illustration, digital photography, and textile art. Students are provided unparalleled opportunities to engage with other artists, explore new mediums, feature pieces in our in-house gallery, as well as exhibits in the community – like Rochester’s renowned Contemporary Annual 6×6 exhibit.
Students of Spectrum Creative Arts also have the unique opportunity to engage in large-scale community events through Spectrum’s new partnership with The Strong Museum of Play.
